(Mohammad Rosyidin, 2024)
In 2024, our researcher, Mohamad Rosyidin published a monograph entitled “POLITIK HUKUM INTERNASIONAL: KONVENSI SENJATA KIMIA (CWC) SEBAGAI INSTRUMEN KEBIJAKAN INTERVENSI AMERIKA SERIKAT DI SURIAH”, with Alinea Media Dipantara.
This book critically examines how the United States has used international law—specifically the Chemical Weapons Convention (CWC)—as a political and legal instrument to justify and implement its interventionist policies in Syria. By exploring the interplay between law and power, the author highlights the instrumentalization of international treaties in advancing strategic interests.
The book is closely related to the study of Transnational and International Crime, particularly regarding the use of weapons of mass destruction (WMDs) and the manipulation of international law in legitimizing state actions. It also contributes to wider International Relations scholarship on international regimes, global security governance, and U.S. foreign policy.
